Skull and Boners H3 3rd Anniversary Hash

Skull and Boners H3The Skull and Boners H3 celebrate their third anniversary with a hash in Meridan, Connecticut in November 18-20, 2016. Skull and Boners is a relatively new, “American Traditional” hash that runs around the New Haven area.

They’re offering three days of events, including:

  • Friday: Kegs and pizza
  • Saturday: Breakfast, a muddy midday trail, and dinner
  • Sunday: Breakfast and an early morning fatboy trail

Sounds like a fun weekend!  Lodging will be at the Parkway Motel in Meridan.  According to their rego page:

This place is the type of klassy you’ve all cum to expect from the Boners and we can’t wait for you to experience it firsthand.

Registration deadline – in order to guarantee a personalized gimme – is October 31st.  The fee is $69 plus an optional $8 (for a total of $77) for the gimme extras.  Rego is here.  Do it!

 

2016 New York City Red Dress Run

new-york-city-red-dress-run-2016The New York City Hash House Harriers hosts its 19th annual Red Dress Run on the weekend of September 24 2016.  Just like the city itself, the NYC event is always a raucous good time.  The A to A trail promises lots of sights where hashers can simultaneously take in and be the scenery in  the crowded city streets.

Hashers attending this event will have the opportunity to donate to the great charity Back on My Feet again this year.  Somewhat controversially, a charitable donation is not included in your $30 hash cash, so the collection box will be at the on-in and you can kick in Continue reading →

DC Red Dress King of the Hill competition

The Washington DC Red Dress Run is always an epic event, however this year the RDR committee is introducing a special King of the Hill award to the non-DC-area kennel that brings in the most attendees.  All RDR-attending hashers from the winning kennel receives a “cool, shiny, glowing”, and possibly pretty worthless, prize.

So if you want to bring home something unique  from this year’s DC RDR, start bugging your friends into registering.

DC Red Dress King of the Hill StandingsAs of right now, in hash-vs-hash competition, Philadelphia’s Ben Franklin Mob H3 is in the lead with 10 regos, followed by Richmond H3, Hockessin H3, and Tidewater H3.

The differences between the leaders and back-of-the-pack is pretty small, so there’s still an opportunity for an upset when rego finally closes.

About the DC Red Dress Run

DC Red Dress Run LogoThe 2016 DC Red Dress Run takes place on Saturday October 8, 2016, starting at 12PM (11AM for VIPs). Venue is the Capitol Skyline Hotel, (also the hash hotel for out-of-towners), which features an outdoor pool and poolside bar and is less than a mile from the US Capitol and National Mall.  Special hasher rate for rooms is $199 per night.

For your registration, you get half a day of RDR activities, trail, beer check, buffet dinner, and late night dancing.

No Frills Interhash with Summit Hash House Harriers

No Frills Interhash HareThe Summit Hash House Harriers are hosting the No Frills Interhash at the Harmony Ridge Campground from September 30 – October 2 2016. Hashers can register for 3 days of Interhash fun, or for 2 days at a discounted rate.

Summit H3 organizers are pushing for more participation from area hashers in this year’s No Frills Interhash, especially from the New York City area, including the New York City Hash House Harriers, Columbia H3, Long Island Lunatics H3, and Brooklyn H3.  Given that the closest they get to camping is when they have to live in a refrigerator box when the rent gets tripled, New Yorkers tend to be infrequent campout attendees.

Kids Welcome

An interesting feature of this Interhash especially to those parentally-inclined is that Summit welcomes kids for the weekend! As it says on the website, the No Frills Interhash is “not necessarily a kid friendly event but hash spawn are welcome”.

Campground Information

The Harmony Ridge Campground in Northern New Jersey and a short drive from Philadelphia and New York City. You must make your cabin or camping reservation yourself by calling Harmony Ridge directly at 1-973-948-4941.

  • Camping cost is $15 per person per night. When you make your reservation, tell them you are tent camping in Group Area E. Contact the Summit H3 organizers if you don’t have a tent.
  • Cabin cost is $40 per person per night with a 2 person, 2 night minimum. Single cabins have 2 queen beds and a padded loft, kitchen, and bathroom. Double cabins have 2 additional queen sized beds.
  • Bathrooms and showers are a 2 minute walk from Group Area E.
  • Pool is closed but fishing (this is Jersey after all), arcade, and ball field are open, assuming you are sober enough to do anything.

Registration

Registration for the No Frills Interhash is a cheap $40 for Friday-Sunday and an even cheaper $30 if you just want to join Saturday-Sunday, and covers food and beer. Kids are just $15 per. You must reserve and pay for your accommodations directly with the campgrounds, as rego doesn’t include camping costs. Rego is here.

Rego fees must be paid to the Interhash organizers by Sept 15 to finalize purchases.

The Summit Hash House Harriers are well known in the area for being a great group and providing a fun time. We’re looking forward to this being another one of their great events.

The Chicago Thirstday Hash House Harriers are hosting the 6th annual Pink Dress Run during the weekend of Oct 21st, 2016.  The TH3 says that they give you the  best reason to call in sick on Fridays, however given that festivities go on all weekend, you’ll probably plan to be out on Monday too.

Pink Dress Run Charity Partner

The TH3 is partnered with Imerman Angels, a Chicago-based 501(c)3 not-for-profit that provides support for cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers.  Portions of the  registration proceeds and fund raising at events over the Pink Dress weekend will be donated to Imerman Angels, and participants will be encouraged to fundraise online.

The Pink Dress Run features swag (some heavy TH3-branded winter gloves), trails, pub crawls, and brunch all weekend, starting Thursday. From their web site:

Rumson Hash House Harriers 2000th Hash

The famously infamous Rumson New Jersey Hash House Harriers are celebrating their 2000th Hash in September, and have opened up very limited registration for the event.

The Rumson H3 describes themselves as “the Hell’s Angels of Hashing” which is actually somewhat accurate. For their 2000th hash, they’re promising giveaways, a pub crawl, some trails, a beach BBQ, and brunch.

Friday

  • Asbury Park Bar Crawl – pay as you go as we traverse 6-8 bars including 2-micro breweries in Asbury Park.
  • Col. Hogan and Elephant Dick are the hares (and maybe Dead Man Walking)

Saturday

  • Breakfast of Bloody Mary’s and Cuban cigars at the Salt Creek Grill
  • Hash at Rumson Hash site #1 set in the Hartshorne Woods (eagle & chicken). Jack Schitt, Butt Nked & Euro Trash are the hares.
  • Finish on the beach for beer and bar-b-q near historic lighthouses
  • Later party into the night at a tiki-hut bar, steel drums and Red Stripes and three draft beers on tap and pool (special awards to our founders)

Sunday

  • Pork roll egg and cheese and bloody mary’s at Surf BBQ in Rumson
  • Presentation of special award for greatest on-sec-for-life ever!!!

White House Hash House Harriers American Summer Camp-out 2016

White House H3 American Summer Camp-outRegistration is open for the 2016 White House Hash House Harriers “American Summer” camp-out. White House H3 events are notoriously fun, this year even more so as the camp-out coincides with their 1700th trail on the weekend of 22-24th July 2016. Per the web site:

Pan Asia Hash 2017 in Sokcho City, Korea

Signup for the Pan Asia Hash to be held in Sokcho City, Korea in 2017 is now open. Judging from the itineraryPan Asia Hash 2017, Sokcho City is rolling out the red carpet for hashers visiting Korea for this event. Services and attractions include:

* A daily hash bazaar
* Red Dress Run starting from the city center
* An opening ceremony dinner and dance
* Bus transportation to and from trails
* Nightly dinner and entertainment

Chicago Hash House Harriers Power of the Pussy 2016

Chicago H3 Power of the PussyThe Chicago Hash House Harriers is hosting the “Cherry POP Super Sweet Sixteen” “Power of the Pussy” harriettes’ anniversary event, (which, honestly, is probably not at all cat related, ladies), during the weekend of 5-7 August 2016 in and around Chicago.

The Chicago H3 is offering 3 days of activities, including a beer olympics, which is basically beer-related tasks during a pub crawl, on Friday night; a costumed hash on Saturday; and, on Sunday, a hangover hash that includes a walking only trail, cocktail contest, strippy cup, and cuddle puddle.

Bungle in the Jungle Campout 2016

Big-Hump H3The Big-Hump Hash House Harriers of the St Louis metro area are hosting their Bungle in the Jungle 2016 campout at their, so-called, Camp Bungle in the descriptively named Steelville, Missouri. Camp commences from 12-14 August, 2016  and gets you fed all three days, beer, trails, float trip (canoeing/rafting), free stuff, indoor bed or outdoor area for your tend, hot tub, and volleyball.
